Your loc journey should feel informed, not confusing. Here are answers to what our clients ask most.
Maintenance frequency depends on your loc type and lifestyle:
- Microlocs (Interlocking): Every 4–6 weeks
- Traditional Locs: Every 6–8 weeks
Waiting too long between appointments can lead to matting at the roots, breakage, thinning, and grid distortion. During your consultation, we'll create a personalized maintenance schedule to protect your locs long-term.
Yes — but only when done professionally and strategically. Chemical processes can weaken locs if your hair is fragile, you have thinning areas, or your locs are newly installed. We assess hair strength and scalp health before approving any color service. We prioritize healthy locs first, color second.
At Triple Touch Locs, we use lightweight, residue-free products including professional scalp-safe cleansers, moisture-balancing conditioners, and growth-supporting oils. We avoid heavy waxes, greasy buildup products, and anything that compromises loc integrity. Healthy locs require clean foundations.
Time varies based on desired loc size, hair density, hair length, and installation method. On average:
- Traditional Starter Locs: 3–6 hours
- Microlocs Installation: 8–16+ hours (may require multiple sessions)
Because microlocs require detailed parting and precision, we limit installations each month to maintain quality.
Yes — scalp health is a priority at Triple Touch Locs. We offer clarifying detox treatments, moisture-restoring scalp therapy, anti-itch treatments, and product buildup removal. Chronic itching or dandruff is often caused by product buildup, improper maintenance, or dehydration — all of which we assess and address directly.
After installation, you'll receive detailed aftercare guidance, including when and how to wash, how to moisturize, how to protect your locs while sleeping, which products to avoid, and when to schedule your first maintenance appointment. Following aftercare instructions directly impacts how beautifully your locs mature. We educate, not just style.
Your crown journey starts with a conversation. Book your consultation and let's build your plan.
